David Hoffman founded The Hoffman Group in 1984 in the midst of perhaps the worst real estate market the area has ever seen. As other sales and marketing firms "ignored" the oceanfront developments now adversely affected by soaring interest rates and tax reforms being proposed by Congress, The Hoffman Group found its niche, taking the incredible opportunities available for purchasers of oceanfront condominiums to them instead of waiting for them to come to the beach.
Hundreds of sales later, "failed" resorts were fully operational and The Hoffman Group was known as THE oceanfront sales solution. By 1991, adhering to Hoffman's vision and agressive marketing strategies and rescuing the resales market in general, The Hoffman Group was ready for new horizons.
Working with oceanfront property owners who were considering new development, The Hoffman Group pioneered the new construction "pre-sales" concept. Again, sales ensued and The Hoffman Group became instrumental in helping change both the physical landscape and the economic landscape of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Much of the success of pre-sales was that the developments would be operated like a resort hotel, yet the debt would be spread among all the individual condominium owners through a horizontal property regime.
In mid 2003, The Hoffman Group led the market in responding to the newest real estate trend when hotel owners began converting their newer and better properties into condominium operations. By 2005's end, this segment had generated over 2200 sales in such properties as Landmark, Breakers Boutique, Ocean Reef, the Pinnacle and Schooner towers at Compass Cove, Boardwalk, Caribbean, Monterey Bay, Landmark Phase II, Caravelle and Holiday Pavilion.
